Born in Kisumu, Kenya, in 1987, Leonard Amimo is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans visual art, film, and writing. A graduate of the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (Design), his work is rooted in storytelling and the exploration of human experience.
His signature practice, Ethereal Whirls, is a visual language of continuous circular patterns, vibrant colour, and symbolic forms that explore the journey of returning to oneself. Through energy, vibration, and the intricate follicles of life, his work reflects on consciousness, enlightenment, emotion, movement, and stillness. Each composition becomes a meditation on the invisible forces that connect us to our inner selves, inviting contemplation, presence, and a deeper awareness of the energy that flows through life.
